Phone numbers and porting
Local, toll-free, vanity, and fax DIDs from $1.10 a month, coverage in 100+ countries, and ports worked by people who read the customer service record first.
Buying a number takes one API call. Moving one is where migrations stall.
How a port actually runs here.
Six steps, each one owned by a person you can reach. The failure mode we design against is the rejected letter of authorization nobody tells you about until the week of cutover.
- CSRWe pull and read the customer service record from the losing carrier.
- LOAThe letter of authorization is checked line by line against that record.
- SubmitThe request goes in clean, so rejections are caught before they cost you a week.
- FOCThe firm order commitment date is confirmed and scheduled around your call volume.
- CutoverRouting is staged in advance, so the number lands on a live trunk, not a fast busy.
- VerifyTest calls both directions, CNAM and E911 re-checked, status closed out over the API.
Pick the number type before you pick the plan.
The four DID types behave differently on the way in, and the difference shows up in the inbound rate rather than the monthly fee.
| Local voice | From $1.10 a month plus $0.40 one time. Inbound at $0.009 per minute. The default for campaigns that want a recognizable rate center. |
|---|---|
| Toll-free voice | From $1.50 a month. Inbound at $0.027 per minute, outbound free. The default for a published support or sales line. |
| Vanity toll-free | From $1.50 a month plus a $30 one-time reservation for the specific pattern. |
| Local fax | From $1.99 a month, for the intake and carrier lines that are still fax lines. |
Inventory you can run programmatically.
If you resell numbers under your own brand, provisioning cannot be a support ticket. It has to be part of your signup flow.
Provision without a ticket
- Search live inventory by area code, rate center, type, and capability.
- Reserve a number while your customer finishes signup, then buy it in the same session.
- Assign routing to a trunk, a queue, or an AI Voice Agent on creation.
- Release numbers when a tenant churns, so idle inventory stops billing.
- Read port status over the same API and render it in your own dashboard.
Sold under your name
- White-label is normal: your users never see the Solved Telephony name.
- Numbers and usage split by your own tenant identifiers, so you can invoice from the CDRs.
- Unlimited inbound plans available on select DID types by request.
- Messaging enabled on the same DIDs, with 10DLC registration handled during onboarding.

FAQs
Questions about numbers and porting
How long does a port take?
The firm order commitment date is set by the carrier losing the number, not by us, so we do not promise a date we cannot control. What we do control is everything that makes ports slip: we read the customer service record before submitting, correct the letter of authorization against it, and schedule the cutover around your call volume rather than the losing carrier's convenience. Port state is visible over the API the whole way through.
Can I move part of a number block?
Yes. Partial ports are normal here. You can move a subset of a range without stranding the rest of it, which matters when a block carries a main line, a fax line, and an old queue number that still gets calls.
What does Enhanced 911 cost, and when should I turn it on?
Enhanced 911 is $1.50 per DID per month plus a $1.50 one-time fee, and it carries the dispatchable address that emergency services see. Set it on any DID a person might dial 911 from, and keep the address current when the person behind the number moves.
Can I search, buy, and release numbers programmatically?
Yes. Number inventory is available over the REST API: search by area code and type, reserve what you want, buy it, assign routing, and release it when a tenant churns. Provisioning can sit inside your own signup flow, so a new customer of yours gets a number without anyone filing a ticket. Port status is exposed the same way, so your dashboard can show it. See the documentation.
What is a CNAM dip and when am I billed for it?
A CNAM dip is the lookup that turns an inbound caller's number into a caller ID name. It is $0.008 per inbound call, billed only when the lookup runs. Updating the caller ID name on a number you own is no charge, and a directory listing is $10 one time.
Do you offer unlimited inbound instead of per-minute?
Unlimited inbound plans are available on select DID types by request. The published default is $0.009 per minute on local inbound and $0.027 on toll-free inbound, which is cheaper for most traffic profiles, so we will look at your actual inbound minutes before recommending either one.
